Bassetti has always been attentive to the needs of the modern consumer, who looks for high-quality raw materials and loves to live in a free and playful way in a home where he can surround himself with original and colorful, practical and functional products. Since its foundation, Bassetti has been a leader in the production and distribution of household linen: bed linen, terry cloth and furnishing accessories that combine innovation and creativity.

The story in brief

1830 - The story of Bassetti began in Milan in Piazza S. Stefano 2, in the heart of the ancient Ca' Granda, today the Università degli Studi. Here Carlo Baroncini, a cousin of Giovanni Bassetti, opened a shop selling cloths, damask tablecloths, linen and batiste handkerchiefs, blankets, curtains and knitwear. An enterprising man with a strong entrepreneurial mentality, Carlo Baroncini invested in production autonomy to ensure consistent quality and an increase in volume and turnover. He opened a hand weaving workshop in Rescaldina, which soon had more than a hundred looms in operation.

1950 - Bassetti launches a revolutionary idea: ready-made lingerie, immediately available to women who are increasingly forced to work outside the home. In the mid-1950s, Bassetti was one of the first Italian companies to invest in advertising.

1987 - Bassetti launches the Granfoulard brand, an innovative multi-purpose cloth that can bring creativity and decoration to any room in the house. The collection is a huge success internationally, with more than a million units sold.
